History

The Academy Of Biblical Character Development (ABCD) began with a handful of families committed to the godly upbringing and teaching of their children. The school was incorporated in 1984 in accordance with Florida Statute Section 623 and operates solely in Marion County. Since its inception, ABCD has grown to an organization of more than 120 students, representing approximately 75 families from a broad spectrum of evangelical Christian churches.

ABCD is a private school operating under the authority of the State of Florida, and is comprised of families who have sensed God’s leadership in the area of the education of their own children. The commitment of ABCD is to encourage, facilitate, and develop the godly character of the children that we, through God’s strength and grace, are privileged to teach.

ABCD is an organization that has at its very foundation the vision of supporting godly families as they impress, instill, and develop biblical and godly character in their students. ABCD is unique in that it is established as a ministry for Christian families that are serious about honoring God in the moral and academic development of their children. Membership is a privilege and not an entitlement and great care is taken to ensure that applicants for enrollment share the same convictions and vision as ABCD. We have been and will continue to be a place where parents who protect and shield their children from the unwholesome influences of this world and who are committed to the biblical instruction of their children may freely come together without fear of moral compromise or the undermining of the biblical values which they hold so dear. Our desire as an organization is not to have the largest enrollment possible, but rather to have a school filled with students and families whose chief end in life is to bring glory and honor to Jesus Christ our Savior and Lord in every area of their lives.
